Wrinkling of the skin is a natural part of ageing. Over the years, age and gravity on the skin can make the facial skin sag. This can make a person look really old and feel old. For this reason, facelift surgery is one of the most popular operations being done. It has been performed for decades and today, both men and women benefit from face lift surgery. The sagging skin is tightened, excess skin is removed, and wrinkles are visible reduced. It is one of the fastest growing procedures in the world and there are many face lift techniques available to address different problems. After the procedure, the face is rejuvenated and one can feel and look younger.
There are instances when facial surgery is not enough to make one feel younger. With age, the voice undergoes changes too. During the later years of life, respiration and phonation are affected by the ageing process. The loudness range can be reduced and voice of older adults can come out as hoarse or perceived as breathy. Surgery can now be done to plump up the vocal cords. This was originally intended for singers or those who depend on their voice for their profession such as teachers and politicians. Today, it is an option for those who have had plastic surgery and would want to sound as young as they look. Vocal cord surgery can turn old shaky voices into strong clear ones. This can also be done by injecting collagen or similar substances to plump the vocal cords up. The so called voice lifts are a perfect adjunct to face lifts to make a person feel much younger.

A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is the process of removing excess fat and skin in the tummy. It can also restore weakened muscles to create a smoother, firmer, and younger looking abdominal profile. Oftentimes, even regular exercise and proper diet fail to give a firm abdomen. Again, ageing normally leads to sagging and loose muscles. In women, pregnancy can bring about a wobbly tummy that can be quite difficult to restore to its previous firmness. It can lead to loose skin, muscle weakness, and extra fat that is difficult to get rid of. The muscle and skin may not return to normal without the help of an abdominal operation. However, even men can enjoy the benefits of a tummy tuck. The operation depends on the elasticity of the skin, stretch marks present, and muscle laxity. Having a well sculptured tummy rather than a flabby one can make a person feel years younger.
Advancing age also brings about changes in the teeth and gums. Genetics play a factor in receding gums but it can also be caused by too vigorous brushing and gum disease. Teeth can also be lost during the years and the most common replacements are denture placement, dental bridges, and dental crowns. However, for a more natural look and feel, dental implants are now becoming a popular choice. Missing teeth and even removable dentures can cause the face to collapse over the years, making one appear older. With artificial tooth root replacements that are done through surgical implants, the lost teeth feel and look natural. This results to an enhanced smile and also a more youthful appearance.

Ageing also brings along changes around the eyes. The eyelids wrinkle, thin out, and lose elasticity. This appears as sagging eyelids and puffiness around the eyes, leading to the old person look. In addition to ageing, there are other factors that can lead to eyelid sagging such as excessive sun exposure, genetics, and allergies. Not only will drooping eyelids make one look older, it can also impair vision. Blepharoplasty or surgery of the eyelids can correct these problems and gets rid of the tired look. It can be done on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or both. The procedure is quite simple, a small incision is made and excess muscle, fat, and loose skin is removed. These operations, especially on the upper eyelids are a fantastic way to look fresh and rejuvenated.
People who wear glasses are perceived to be older. Apparently, people tend to look at least three years older when wearing prescription glasses. A highly effective way to get rid of glasses is through refractive eye surgery, the most common of which is LASIK surgery wherein a laser is used to permanently change the shape of the cornea to correct poor vision. An alternative to laser eye surgery is PRK or photorefractive keratectomy in which the top layer of the cornea is gently scraped away. After the successful eye operation, one can get rid prescription glasses for a younger look and feel.
